Hotels near to Göreme

While there are many hotels in Göreme at times you may find them fully booked and instead choose to stay in one of the nearby towns.  There are five towns which are close by and can be easily used as a base to explore Göreme because they are less than 15 minutes ride in a minibus.  Each has some of its own attractions as well.  They are Uchisar, Ortahisar, Urgup, Avanos and of course Nevsehir which is the capital of the district and where many visitors first arrive.

 

Uçhisar

Located south west of Göreme and known particularly for the Landlord's Castle or Uçhisar Castle this town to the closest to Pigeon valley.

Ortahisar

Visit the "Hospital" or Hallacdere Monastery which is one of the best preserved in the region.
